pterygium_02.jpg

A PTERYGIUM is a triangular thickening of the conjunctiva (the layer of transparent skin on the white of the eye) which extends on to the outer edge of the cornea (the transparent window at the front of the eye).

Photos taken from my patient in the clinic yesterday. (With permission). Have your eyes checked by your eye care practitioner regularly to have your eye health taken cared of.
