Myopia
Also called nearsightedness, myopia is a condition of the eye in which images appear blurry at distance.
Common symptoms include the following:
squinting to see better
blurry vision at distance
difficulty seeing while driving at night
difficulty reading signs such as the jeepney "karatula"
for kids, sitting near the TV or near the blackboard
Myopia occurs due to a long eye ball or a steeper than normal cornea, which is the transparent media on the front of the eye. It may also be genetic, as in having parents with nearsightedness, or acquired, due to lifestyle.
Espina Eye Care manages this condition through prescription glasses, contact lenses and specially-designed myopia control lenses and contact lenses.
